This wiki has not been updated or been active for ages so I thought it was fit to post something myself. This season is going to be quite different than last year's with a new coach, who I am sure will probably put more time and effort than Pearson did. It is starting to somewhat sink in that this will my penultimate year of competing and so I think we should also make it a priority to recruit underclassmen that will eventually take over for us. Looking back at past year's records for Academic League, I found that in 2000 our shool's varsity team had an 8-1 record that year, which was better than that of Southwest, and I would certainly want to have a good season this year. I would have not enrolled at Castle Park had it not been for Academic League. I was supposed to go to Chula Vista but that school had not competed the previous year so I figured that they would not compete last year either.Well, I can't wait for the season to start and I hope that we get to see the schedule soon. I'm wondering how they are going to do it this year. If they do it like last year than I think that'll benefit us since most teams probably lost their most experienced players and we'll know them from last year. Come to think of it, Southwest was not that great last year. At least, they far from what I remembered from my freshman year. They are certainly beatable. We proved it last year and we can definetly do it this year. The teachers say that it would be unfair to offer extra credit to spectators because they don't do that for other sports. So, on Tuesday we're suppose to have a meeting with Mr. Weinz and Ms. Macgregor to see if we can be classified as an "academic competition" or some other catagory that would permit us to reap more benefits (i.e. extra credit for spectators) and give us recognition.

Although I think it will be quite hard to beat Southwest's Varsity Team, which was undefeated last year and went on to the county championship and have also made it to nationals. We'll see what we do tomorrow but I would really like for you to be in JV. It would make our team much better and I really think we have a very good chance at winning JV. We have a much better chance at winning at least one match if we concentrate all of our efforts and top players on JV rather than splitting the team up into JV and Varsity. Mr. Pearson would probably not approve of that though. JV is our best chance at winning. I do not want to sound pessimistic but I don't think we have a good chance at winning Varsity. I think that we can win a few Varsity matches but I don't would not want this to hinder our chances at winning either one. We'll talk about it tomorrow although I don't think Mr. Pearson will agree with me. I really don't want to lose tomorrow. Not only would winning this third match make it the best start possible (CPH JV won 3 matches last year in the whole season!!; we would be tying that already) but I want to beat Southwest so badly. It's personal with them. Southwest's Varstiy team completely destroyed Montgomery 110-6 (ouch!). The JV score was much closer 49 SOH vs. 40 MOH. Last year Montgomery did not win a single match in either Varsity or JV. Unless they got some really good freshmen or recruited some good players they'll be really weak. I'm sure Southwest choose to put freshmen or unexperienced players in JV to play against Montgomery. Otherwise the difference in points would have been much bigger. I think we can win both JV and Varsity this tuesday. Southwest should be tough though. I'm studying some stuff that came up a lot during the match. Being that it is a home match we should have some more people too.
